It has been recognized with a variety of community awards for supporting many non-profit and local charitable organizations and receiving many Chamber of Commerce Awards. The company gives back a percentage of every commission earned to the Pictou County community. Community is important to Fred and everyone at Blinkhorn Real Estate.

Being community-minded, Fred truly cares about and contributes to the volunteer sector as well; a proud Kinsman, Knights of Columbus member, volunteer with the West Side Community Center and is very involved in soccer as a coach. Fred is also a Town Councillor for the West Side, New Glasgow, where he resides, along with his wife and four children.
